Ringing directly out of the 1920s Jazz Age, this 19-fret S.S. Stewart "Wondertone" tenor banjo is a magnificent slice of American musical history. Built during the height of the speakeasy and string band era, it features a rich figured wood resonator back centered with an intricate marquetry rosette inlay. The neck is adorned with mother-of-pearl diamond fret markers and iconic script headstock lettering. Resting inside its original green velvet-lined case, it possesses the warm, punchy acoustic projection that made Stewart banjos famous among ragtime and dixieland players.
